About Us
The PTA is made up of parents, teaching staff and an elected committee who organise events and initiatives order to:
- Raise funds to benefit all children attending the school
- Build and maintain a fun and active social community within our school
The Bollin School PTA is a registered Charity (No. 1003172) that operates through a Committee and Trustees. You can see more on the principles of how a PTA operates on the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations website: http://www.ncpta.org.uk
In practice, we work on a flexible basis, using a series of small teams to organise all sorts of events and activities throughout the school year - the nature of which is only limited by our (and your) imagination and time!
While some events, such as fairs and discos, are repeated each year, we try to introduce variety with new or ad hoc activities designed for children, adults or entire families.
As all parents and carers are automatically members of the PTA, you are free to contribute your support in any way you can. The committee is grateful for all input, and we recognise that everyone is busy, so please don't hesitate to get in touch even if you can't commit much time. As you can see from the various images on this site, a great deal of fun is had by all!
Typical events include discos, fairs, cake stalls, coffee mornings, a summer party and fun run. For more information on past and future events, see our Events page.
Recently we have raised money to provide laptops, replenish library books, hold a video and media workshop, provide resources for music and replace playground equipment, among other things. For more information on our fund-raising, see our Fund-raising page.
