AUTUMN FESTIVAL PLANNING MEETING
21 September 2009, 7.30-9.00pm

OutlineA 31 x 12m marquee is to be erected in the school field from Saturday 17th – Saturday 24th October 2009, to enable to series of events to be held for the school to celebrate its 40 Year ruby anniversary. 
Responsibility for marquee hire: Lynn Manifould.

School assembly

Talent Show finals pm

Past pupils, parents, staff reunion and gathering including memory sharing, talent show and tree-planting ceremony, involving famous footballer.

Marilyn Downs to lead.

Mr Liddell to co-ordinate ‘celebrity’ involvement.

Julie Saunders to develop press release and liaise with Dee Brewster re: publicity.

Wednesday 21st October

Harvest Festival

Coin mosaic in design of 40th logo

All classes participate in morning to build logo – parents invited to view – press?


Thursday 22nd October

6-8pm

Family disco and BBQ

Ticket price £2.00 adults / £1.00 children

Sausages, samosas, vegetarian option and potato wedges for sale.

Sophie Wilcockson to source DJ.

Marilyn to co-ordinate food and source fairylights.

Vicky to work with Sophie on logistics.

Friday 23rd October

Autumn Fair

Farmers’ market, stalls (toys, books, games), tombola (kids and adults), games, refreshments, kids’ activities, autumn games, scarecrow display, pumpkins, biscuit decorating, live music.

Julie to develop poster & flyer working with Dominic.

Sue Broadbent to check re: Farmers’ Market options via parents.

Need co-ordinating team and definitive list of activities.

Marilyn to contact group for live music.


Julie to draft communication plan and press releases.
