Things Are Heating Up

This Spring at the Bollin!

AGM 2011

The PTA would like to say “thank you” to all who were able to make it to the AGM on 10th February. A lot of information was covered and it was great to see everyone there and to hear your views.

The minutes have been issued via an E-update. You can also find meeting minutes and lots of other valuable information on the PTA website by following this link: http://www.bollinpta.com

If you didn´t receive an E-update, please sign-up on the PTA website or provide your email address to the PTA at the School Office. We don´t have access to the information on the regular school email database due to data protection, so if you´re interested in receiving updates via e-mail, we’ll need to collect and keep your contact details on our PTA database separately.

PTA meetings are open to everyone and usually occur on Monday evenings once a month. The next meeting will be held on April 18th at 7:30pm in the school staff room.

If you´re unable to attend meetings, you can still get involved. Why not send your views, ideas and suggestions to us via any of the routes below, or alternatively contact one of the Committee or your Class Rep directly. We would love to hear from you and, of course, volunteers are always welcome!

A Note From Mrs. Downs

The Bollin School PTA provides tremendous support for the children through the wide range of activities that are organized every year.

From the social fun of the fairs and discos to the fund-raising activities of the Promises Auction, the PTA provides our community with a real sense of cohesion and purpose.

The PTA has helped with financial support for many areas of our school life, including the provision of a wide range of resources for all classes – from play equipment in the Foundation Stage to supporting an Architecture Project, ´Scape’, with our Year 6 children.

Every term, the PTA provides additional financial support for school trips and visits. This allows us to subsidize the costs for these trips, especially for transport, and also to bring in special visitors such as David Horner the Poet, and more recently the visit from The Storyteller. These experiences enrich the curriculum for the children.

We have a class set of laptops that are provided through an annual lease which is supported by the PTA and as our pupil numbers increase, the PTA will continue to assist with our IT resources. In addition, the school is providing 12 Promethean Interactive Whiteboards in the new classrooms and the PTA is funding an additional 3 boards for the Reception and Nursery classes.

Once our building project is completed our next area for development will be the school campus. We will approach our PTA for support both physically and financially in order that we can recreate our beautiful external environment.

Whatever we do, it will be with the purpose to provide the very best for all our pupils through the successful partnership that we have with the PTA.

All of these improvements, along with dedicated staff and parents make the Bollin a wonderful place for our children to begin their education.

Let´s make this year our best yet!
